Our Vision

My special dream is to set up a flexible* programme for the Magic Sunglasses™ suitable to be used worldwide (be it a mud hut or central London or New York) and to hear children all round the world join together in singing the Real Me© – The Magic Sunglasses™ Theme Song link.

I want as many children as possible to have the opportunity to develop real self-confidence by discovering the power of their natural gifts and talents, and by feeling good about themselves as a result.

The final part of the workshop for the children will be choosing and completing a challenging project they would love to do, proving to themselves what they can achieve, probably more than they ever thought possible – a wonderful sense of can do and satisfaction.

I believe that completing the Magic Sunglasses™ programme once a year until they leave school and/or start work would result in/produce individuals who were quietly confident and comfortable with themselves and so well able to benefit and contribute to their community,- and any business in which they were involved.

Quote from a parent of a Real Me workshop graduate:

“Should be a regular session perhaps every 6 mths to reinforce the message”

and

“Would be nice to have a session for older children”

I would like to make "The Magic Sunglasses™" and its concept part of the global community's framework for empowering children to reach their potential in living happy lives. a worldwide community of children who have learnt how to value themselves and to use their potential, to live personally successful lives and contribute to the success of others.

a generation of individuals who grow up with a natural respect for others regardless of race, religion or cultural background. This new generation will be actively practising self-sufficiency and support for others from a young age, forming a pattern for life, contributing to global understanding and peace.

Of course, there still are and no doubt always will be a majority of the world where children's lives bear no resemblance to this idealised vision, but for example if you think about it, some views do change for the better over the years in the UK and many European countries and similar it is no longer generally accepted (as it was as recently as the mid 19th century in the UK) that children will work in mines or factories for example – and this was not completely stopped until as recently as the early 20th century – when attending full time school became compulsory, but attending school until 16 not until the 1968 act with more programmes to feed children whose parents cannot completely afford to provide for them.

The speedy development of science and technology has affected much larger global areas, especially when commerce is involved, with both more and less beneficial results – mobile phones and digital technology. But although the internet can provide s greater access to education and opportunity , of the 2.9 billion still offline, it is estimated that 90% o these live in developing countries.
